Subjective memory complaints(SMC) are defined as a phenomenon , where people complain their memory loss even they have intact cognition. In this study, we tried to find out the characteristics of the emotions and the neuropsychological variables of the memory loss, and the cognitive functions of subjective memory complaints. For the purpose of this, we measured neuropsychological tests and emotion evaluation for 89 people(control = 48, SMC = 41) over 60 years. in Gyeongju city. The results were follows: SMC showed less cognitive functions of Word List Memory, Word List Recall and Construct recall and recognition as well as the lower emotion of depression. Although there were no significant differences in cognitive and the affective variables between the two groups in hierarchical regression analyses, SMC was significant influenced by Word List Memory and depression in 10% level. The results showed that SMC is related with memory loss and depression. It was discussed about the limitation of our study and a future research direction.
